Our Blue Planet VR | x2 Online 360VR Films | 2019
Lasting 4-5 months, this production with the Natural History Unit at BBC Studios involved creating x2 underwater stereoscopic 360VR films, using a one-of-a-kind rig created by VRTUL / Blue Ring Imaging. The films offer a guided-dive experience with local experts, as you encounter charismatic animals in two very different marine environments.

Tracking Snow (I.W.F.F. Media Labs) | Short Film | 2018
Discover a novel way to studying elusive carnivores using snow! Researchers rely on finding snow tracks of animals like the charismatic lynx to estimate their distribution, which often leads to a lot of work without conclusive results. Join two scientists – Jessie and Tommy - as we learn how they re-purposed an old technique that may revolutionize how we study threatened species and manage our landscapes. Created during the 2018 IWFF Filmmaker Labs, this film highlights the importance of conservation through collaboration by bringing together the scientific minds of two distinct branches of The U.S. Forest Service.

An hour-long episode of the presenter-led series, Kieling’s Wild World. During one segment, the presenter visits the Maldives to learn about the reef manta aggregations of Baa Atoll, Hanifaru Bay, cyclone feeding, and the links with the lunar cycle and south-west monsoon.

For this hour-long TV production, the client wanted some bonus 360VR content to support the marketing and release. My Boxfish 360 rig was used by the tech divers during one of their dives down to the B-24 bomber.

Dive with marine biologist Giulia Bernardi, as she shows you the underwater world of the Aeolian Islands, and the challenges threatening its future and the people that rely on it. From volcanic vents to vertical walls sinking into the blue, this immersive 360 film takes you on a dive around an aquatic paradise, with the people attempting to balance the needs of man with the preservation of the Aeolian seas.

Join marine biologist Ana Sobral as she tells the story of her love of Santa Maria island, and her desire the save the elusive mobula rays that visit its underwater mountains. This immersive VR experience follows Ana above and below the waves, as she studies these animals and shows why they are worthy of global protection.

Manta Trust | Educational Film | 2017
Part of a multimedia toolkit created for the Manta Trust's How to Swim with Manta Rays tourism initiative. This Code of Conduct film / PSA informs snorkelers, divers and tourism operators around the world about how to interact with manta rays during an excursion, whilst minimising their impact on the gentle giants they encounter. Available in English, Mandarin, Spanish, and several other languages.

Lirar helps run the Maldivian Manta Ray Project. Together, the team strive to learn more about the reef manta rays that reside around the Maldives archipelago, including those that gather in huge numbers inside the famed Hanifaru Bay.
